Gangsan Myeonok, the first naengmyeon restaurant in Daegu

Gangsan Myeonok evacuated from Pyongyang to Daegu during the January 4th retreat in 1951 during the Korean War and opened a cold noodle restaurant on Sotjeom Street in Seomun Market.
Known as the first Pyeongyang-style naengmyeon restaurant in Daegu, where naengmyeon was not available.
Gangsan Myeonok was a displaced person from Pyongyang, and he used the name 'Gangsan' because he missed his hometown of Daedonggang and Moranbong.
It moved to the transportation market in Daegu in 1958 and has maintained its reputation for about 70 years, establishing itself as the home of Daegu naengmyeon loved by Daegu citizens.
Gangsan Myeonok is a representative dish of Daegu that has inherited the tradition of Pyeongyang-style naengmyeon and has been indigenous to Daegu.

In order to preserve the unchanging taste of tradition, the spirit of craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation.
It is also the place that became the motif for Hyeonin's <Goodyear Geumsunah> song. In 2012, it was proudly selected as one of the '100 Old Korean Restaurants Loved by Koreans' announced by the Food Service Industry Promotion Division of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It has become a specialty of Daegu that retains memories.
Noodles carefully made with sweet potato starch and buckwheat without using wheat flour, and Mulnaengmyeon made with a broth steeped in our Korean beef for a long time.
Bibim naengmyeon made with domestic Nonghyup clean red pepper powder and a sauce fermented with fruits and vegetables, and kimchi rolled naengmyeon made with delicious kimchi soup have become representative dishes of Gangsan Myeonok.
