Information
Maemiseong Fortress is a wall built on a thousand-year-old rock by Baek Sun-sam, a citizen who lost his farmland due to Typhoon Maemi in 2003, to protect his crops from natural disasters.
By repeatedly building square stones near the beach and filling them with cement, it has now become a castle reminiscent of the European Middle Ages.
Its scale and design are so magnificent that it is hard to believe that it was built without even a single blueprint.
