Sungkyunkwan - A Beacon of Learning

The entrance to Sungkyunkwan was grand, with an imposing gate, which has since been moved to a different location. However, the relics of the past remain, as you can still explore Hamabi and Tangpyeongbigak, each with its own unique story to tell.

Tangpyeongbigak, as many know, was an epitaph personally inscribed by King Yeongjo. It aimed to prevent political strife and promote the selection of worthy officials based on their qualifications. The conflicts of the past may remind us of the challenges we face today.

The East and South Gate
