Today, I'm excited to introduce you to a renowned bakery in Seoul's Seochon neighborhood - Hyoja Bakery. This bakery has earned widespread recognition for supplying its delicious creations to the Blue House, the official residence of South Korea's President, specifically to the security office. You'll find it located approximately 700 meters from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station on Seoul Subway Line 3. We recommend taking a village bus for your convenience. Hyoja Bakery is situated right next to the entrance of Tongin Market and boasts clear signage, making it easy to locate.

The bakery operates from 8:00 AM to 8:20 PM, from Tuesday to Sunday. Please be mindful that they close early if their bread inventory runs out, and they observe regular closure on Mondays.

If you're curious about my previous review of Hyoja Bakery from four years ago, you'll be pleased to know that, while the store's size has remained consistent, they've given their signage and exterior a fresh look. For those who appreciate tradition, Seochon's Hyoja Bakery is certainly a standout among the many renowned bakeries in the area.

As you enter Seochon's Hyoja Bakery, you'll still find the charming statue of a chef holding a loaf of bread right at the entrance, welcoming you just as it always has. Inside the bakery, there's a plaque that pays tribute to the masterful baker behind these delectable creations. This is a bakery where a master baker's craft has stood the test of time, and the commitment to quality is evident.

While the interior of the bakery is relatively small, don't be surprised if it's crowded, as it was on my last visit. This bustling bakery offers a diverse range of bread, including some unique options. You'll come across intriguing choices like the Walnut Roll Cake and the robust Buckwheat Bread, both priced at 5,000 KRW. For fans of apple pastries, there's a Mini Apple Pie available for 5,000 KRW.

Hyoja Bakery offers a wide array of bread types, including various types of loaves, roll cakes, and traditional cakes. Their signature items include the Conbread for 6,000 KRW, the Almond Senbei for 7,000 KRW, the Onion Cream Cheese Soboro, and the Fermented Fig Bread, both priced at 5,500 KRW. While the bread prices may appear slightly higher, considering the size and quality, they offer good value. This bakery is known for its combination of affordability and deliciousness, thanks to the touch of a master baker.

When you visit Hyoja Bakery, make sure to try the Conbread, their flagship offering. This fresh and warm bread features an intriguing mix of onions, mushrooms, and corn, creating a delightful balance of sweetness and savoriness. Its moist texture and appealing flavors are reminiscent of a croquette, making it perfect as a satisfying meal bread.

For a unique experience, indulge in the Onion Cream Cheese Soboro, priced at 5,500 KRW. It comes in a pack of three, combining the crisp texture of Soboro with the delectable combination of cream cheese and onions. You'll savor the delightful crunch and the aroma of onions, creating a truly intriguing taste.

I should note that having both the Conbread and Onion Cream Cheese Soboro together might lead to a similar flavor profile due to the presence of onions. To add variety to your experience, consider pairing one of them with a different bread, such as the Fermented Fig Bread, as Hyoja Bakery offers a wide selection of bread types to explore.

Hyoja Bakery is a true neighborhood gem, offering a wide range of delightful bread and the expertise of a master baker. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the delicious offerings at this charming bakery in Seochon.
