The number one reason for traveling to Switzerland is to see the Matterhorn or ski or snowboard.
People all over the world come to Zermatt.
It takes about 3-4 hours from Zurich or Geneva.
Only electric cars and wagons can get around.
There is also the Matterhorn Museum in town, so if you are interested, visit it.
There are many points from which you can see beautiful views.
- Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (requires several cable car rides. Altitude 3883 meters. Arrive at Klein Matterhorn)
- Gornergrat (height 3089 meters) can be climbed by cogwheel train. 3100 Kulm Hotel Gornergrat Hotel.
- Lake Schwarzsee. Less popular than the above place but with lake view.
